Lessons can be learned through both positive and negative experiences. Though there are obviously similar outcomes, psilocybin generally leaves the user with a sense of heightened emotional well being, the self and the ego can be satisfied to know they exist in the right place. Contrarily if you have heavy underlying/issues in your life you may be temporarily cast into fractalizing pit of hell. Which is frightening to say the least. You can be glad to realise this is usually only temporary and sobriety by comparison will be a reward by the end of it. So not only does psilocin promote neurophysiological changes which I couldn't even begin to speculate on but also the general breadth of perception has increased (even months after), which is generally viewed as a positive attribution. Unlike the traditional conservative right who view this as flower power bullshit stemming from the sixties and all that matters is peace and love, man. How an individual reacts to a given drug varies considerably. For most, psychedelic trips are almost never insignificant, it is a transcension of the ego & the self, to experience extra-ordinary perception through a different lens which provides a tool or platform to facilitate new modes of thinking. Things that you thought ought not to be possible are realized through your very eyes as you observe novel geometry through the chaotically ordered psychedelic vortex and the flux. The realisation of novel experiences is expansion of your perception which may have a lasting effect.
