Default Information on Gymnopilus junonius NZ

What is the deal with it, is it active in New Zealand or not?

    Has anybody tried it?

All information on Gymnopilus junonius welcomed.

    Thanks.

It's certainly present in Auckland (growing on exotic trees like Brush Box and other gums). As to activity, well, I really can't say

It's somewhat common all around NZ however the potency is significantly lower here than other parts of the world. You could be eating upwards of a few hundred grams to obtain any effects. It certainly does not exhibit blue bruising making it difficult to distinguish from closely related species. I haven't yet read a G. junonius trip report describing effects above (+) which tends to make the species unattractive. Personally I've found them many times while hunting for psilocybes, but don't take them because they aren't desirable.

    Weed in NZ
I was unable to find conclusive evidence either way so, last season, I made a tea with about 400 grams. Nothing happened.
